  1. Stop the machine or tractor engine. Wait for the rotor to stop turning.
    If applicable, wait for the power take-off (PTO) shaft to stop turning.
  2. For a BXC34, remove the belt guard fasteners and the guard.
  3. Remove the applicable fasteners from the upper rotor housing or discharge chute.
  4. Open the upper rotor housing or remove the discharge chute.
  5. Turn the rotor to access one of the rotor knives.
  6. Prevent the rotor from turning. If the machine has a rotor-lock pin, use it.
    Make sure that the rotor cannot move.
  7. Remove the rotor knife fasteners.
  8. Carefully, remove the rotor knife.
  9. Clean the rotor knife recess.
  10. Apply blue 242 threadlocker to the threads of each rotor knife fastener.
  11. Put the rotor knife in the recess and align the fastener holes.
  12. Install the rotor knife fasteners.
  13. Use a calibrated torque wrench to torque the rotor knife fasteners to the correct specifications.

  14. Do steps 5 to 13 again for each rotor knife.
  15. Release the rotor. If the machine has a rotor-lock pin, pull it out of the rotor.
    Make sure that the rotor can move freely.
  16. Turn the rotor to check the ledger knife clearance for each of the rotor knives.
    Make sure that the rotor knives do not touch the ledger knife.
  17. Close the upper rotor housing or attach the discharge chute.
  18. Install the applicable upper rotor housing or discharge chute fasteners.
  19. Use a calibrated torque wrench to torque the upper rotor housing or discharge chute fasteners to the correct specifications.
  20. For a BXC34, install the belt guard and fasteners.
  21. Use a calibrated torque wrench to torque the belt guard fasteners to the correct specifications.
